Ok...maybe I've got a some explaining to do.
I stopped posting because of several reasons. First and foremost was that I was continually pissed off, angry, outraged and frustrated at the situation in our nation. Unfortunately, those reasons were beginning to ooze over into my daily life and general routine.
I was beginning to become "difficult to deal with." A complete, total opposite of who I really am. It came to a head one day when a trusted, very long-time friend said it seemed I, "had lost the joy of living." He was right. I had put away the things I love most. There had been no reading just for the fun of it, there had been no writing of silly poetry that was almost of limerick status. We hadn't been in the backcountry for a very long time, something that I really loved. And, there was my small business that was needing increased focus and attention.
I logged off. Emailed a trusted friend as to my whereabouts, so if the subject came up at least one of my online friends would know and could set the record straight. (No black helicopters, he just took a hike...)
First thing was Other Half and my cadre of friends of many years. We have, seriously, enough camping gear to completely outfit a group of twelve. From individual 2 person popup tents to kitchen tent (which houses Other Half's "Barbie's Campout Kitchen") to a complete shower tent, we have it all. I swear, when everything is set up it looks more like a subdivision than a campsite. Twice, so far this year, we have taken groups of our friends for a 3-day + campout in the high country. I had forgotten how much these friends meant to me and how much I enjoyed being around them.
So that's it really. I needed to rebalance and find a healthy center in order to gear up for the 2008 election cycle, because I will never shutup and plan to be both vocal and a very, very active participant in all things liberal and progressive.
I really did miss you ALL.
